PROJECT OVERVIEW
ESQ were engaged by Fraser Coast Regional Council through a Local Buy contract to design a Roundabout at the intersection of Tooley and Churchill Streets, Maryborough.
The roundabout was the first roundabout constructed within Maryborough’s inner city.
The intersection is known as a Blackspot Intersection and had a significant crash history including exhibiting pavement deterioration due to heavy vehicles turning.
The intersection reconstruction involved earthworks, concrete kerbing, flexible and stabilised pavement and asphaltic concrete surfacing as well as pavement marking and associated works.
The intersection upgrade was funded by the Fraser Coast Regional Council and the State Governments Black Spot program.
